The Cape May lighthouse was built in 1859 and stands 159 feet tall. It is open year round. Visitors can climb the Cape May point lighthouse for a panoramic view of the ocean and Delaware bay. The Cape May-Lewes ferry runs daily between Cape May and Lewes Delaware. The 17 mile trip takes about an hour. The 80 foot tall Yankee schooner sails the water in the area. Trips are available to the public.
